Welcome to my craftroom! I know it's been a while since I've been here but between getting ready for last month's class and my SIL's baby shower I've been very busy! Speaking of last month's class, here are the beautiful cards we made!
This first card was made with a set I just love, Fifth Avenue Floral! It's just so versatile, stamped on colored cardstock or printed paper it's beautiful! For this card we stamped it twice on printed paper and cut them out, cutting the second one on the inside layer. We then layered the images with pop dots to give it a dimensional look. Definitely one of my new favorite sets!
For this second card we used a retired set but it had just the look I wanted. We stamped the image twice on cardstock. We then cut out a rectangular space around one of the images, working our way around the image so that it remained intact. We then layered the cut image over the solid image with pop dots so that it gave us a two-dimensional look with the flowers in the background. We also stamped the wagon, cut it out, and layered it with pop dots.  We layered the sentiment and traced around both rectangular images to make them pop. Hope you can appreciate the detail in this card just from the picture!
In this third card we stamped the image tone-on-tone. We then stamped it again on white cardstock, punched out one of the flowers, and adhered it in place to give it a spotlight effect. We carried that look through by stamping the sentiment on a circle too. We sponged ink around both circles to make them pop from the paper. A quick card with an impressive look!
This last card was a lot a fun to make and a great way to use up all those scraps of printed paper you hate to throw away! We just punched random circles out of printed paper and matted them on black to make them pop. We then arranged them on our card using pop dots on a few of the circles to give it some dimension! A great card for any occasion! Thanks for stopping by and remember, you can join us any month at a class to make your own set of beautiful cards!

At the last class I recommended the Herma/Dotto Removable Glue Dispenser for assembling your projects. After purchasing the dispenser you just need to order refills in the future. And if you spend over $25 the shipping is free and your order arrives in a matter of days! Check them out, they carry a lot of other products!

Depending on the colors that you use and the layers that you cut the possibilities are endless!

Okay Girls, I promised you big news and here it is...
Stampin' Up!'s color palette is undergoing a significant and much-needed renovation in July with the new Idea Book & Catalog! I'm so excited by the fact that some of the retired In-Colors are making a comeback!
Here is the new palette:

In addition to the 40 core colors, we’ll have 5 new In-Colors each year, and In-Colors will have a lifespan of two years instead of one! That means we'll have 45 colors to choose from this first year and then 50 the next! The five new colors are called Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Cajun Craze, and Cherry Cobbler. The ten returning In-Colors as core colors are Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, River Rock, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, and Baja Breeze! Woohoo! Also, we’ve renamed Kraft to Crumb Cake, and it is a core color in the Neutrals collection. But to make room for these new colors these will be going away:

So be sure to stock up on your favorites while you can! At some point, it will be while supplies last only. Contact me to stock up on your favorites before they are gone!

Sweet Baby

This is the card I'm submitting for the challenges at http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ and http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/ It's also one of the cards we'll be making at our class this month! I love how sweet it turned out and it's perfect for the class theme of "Flower Power". The 3x3 card is mounted on the card base. And between the flower and the pop dots I used for the layering I think it has plenty of dimension which was the theme for Cute Card Thursday! And with it's pink, green, and white color scheme it met the requirements at The Cuttlebug Spot! I hope you enjoy it!

Thank You Tags!
My friend, Saundra (a chiropractor) generously adjusts me for free so I'm always offering to repay her in any way possible. She finally took me up on the offer! She asked me to make her 30 thank you tags that she could tie to some hand-dipped pretzels she was making for a luncheon. Here is what I can up with! First I punched a small daisy in white cardstock. I punched a 1/4" circle in yellow for the center of the flower. Next I punch a 3/4" circle in red cardstock. I added that to the center of the "thank you" stamp from SU. I punched that image out using my 1" circle punch and adhered it to a 1 1/4" circle punched from yellow cardstock. I used my SU small and large tag punches to make the tags. I used a pop dot to adhere the yellow circle to the tag and give it some dimension.
And here is how the finished product looks!
How cute are those! I'm so glad I could help out and I was really happy she was pleased with the finished product!

Wishing You a Joyous Easter!

This is the card I made for the challenge at http://caardvarks.blogspot.com/. The theme was "Lacy Days" and you were to create a card using lace. I'm very happy with the finished product! I wanted to make a Easter card but I'm not really into the whole bunny and Easter eggs theme so I went with something a little more springy. I love how even with all the layers I was still able to keep a clean palette by limiting my color scheme. I'm not a big phoo-phoo girl so even with the lace it was a clean and simple card! Always the kind I like to make. Hope you enjoy it!

The Color Dare Challenge
So this week at the http://colordare.blogspot.com/ the challenge was to make a card using these colors:

Here is my contribution!

First I stamped my image in white ink and colored it in with a white gel pen. Then I stamped the flower on the pink and the green, using some of the green pedals for leaves. I really like to hand cut parts of an image and pop them to give them some dimension! Flower are perfect for that! It's such a simple technique and really makes a difference! I thought this card turned out really cute and I hope the recipient feels the same way! All products are from SU! Thanks for looking!

If You Had Wings...

This is the card I made for the Cuttlebug Challenge at http://www.thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/
The theme was "If You Had Wings.." If I had wings I would maintain a kind of summer even in the middle of winter! I used the SU Beautiful Butterflies die and cut the butterflies in a printed paper layered on Blue Bayou cardstock. I embossed my bottom layer and then sponged some Blue Bayou ink on to make the image "pop". The ribbon is from SU and the stamp is from Inkadinkado. I hope you enjoy the finished product!

The Cuttlebug Challenge does Vintage
Here is another card for the challenge at http://www.thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/
I really like the way this card turned out! The card is cut with the SU Top Note die then attached to the base. I then inked and hand stitched it to age it. I used the SU Beautiful Butterflies die to cut the butterflies from cardstock and vellum, layering them to give them some dimension. All paper and stamped images are from SU. Hope you enjoy it!

The Color Dare Challenge
So this week at the http://colordare.blogspot.com/ the challenge was to make a spring card using these colors:
Here is my contribution!

I love using the Big Blossom stamp from SU, and it matched my background paper perfectly! Hope you enjoy it!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

I love this, it's so true!
When I received my SU order today this was on the box! How cute is that! I hope this is something that they continue doing because I think it's a great touch! It's the little things that make a difference.
The Cuttlebug Spot does Vintage!

This is the card I made for the Cuttlebug Challenge at http://www.thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

I'll admit, I'm really a girl who likes a clean and simple look so it was difficult to make a vintage card. Not sure if I nailed it but here it is! I embossed my bottom layer and then sponged some ink on to make the image "pop" and to age it a little. I hand cut the flowers and then aged them also. I roughed up the edges of all my cardstock to add to the vintage look. The stamp set and embossing folder are both from Stampin' Up! I hope you enjoy the finished product!

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Cute Card Thursday This is the "Cute Card" I'm submitting for the challenge at http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ Even though I used two busy papers and a printed ribbon it all came together beautifully! I hope you enjoy it!

Finding inspiration

There are many ways to find inspiration when your crafting. It's everywhere around you. Maybe something your wearing, or packaging for a product, maybe an ad in a magazine. That's what I felt when I saw this ad for paint. How beautiful is this photograph and what a lovely color combination for a card or scrapbook page. My goal in the next couple days is to make a card inspired by this ad! Check back soon to see what I've come up with!

Beautiful Wings
What is my favorite crafting technique? Using my Big Shot to either die cut or emboss! Check out my cards and you'll see I use it for almost everything I make. And now with the new SU Embosslits die I can do both! This die embosses and cuts at the same time! Yeah!!!
For this card I ran the embosslit through my Big Shot using Pink Passion, Green Galore, Yoyo Yellow, and Tempting Turquoise cardstock. I then arranged the numerous beautiful butterflies on 2x2 squares mounted on black cardstock. The sentiment is from the new Well Scripted set from the Occasions Mini. I used my black marker to set the butterflies in motion and the pearls gave it just the right finishing touch! Hope you enjoy it!

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Sweet PeaOh, I love the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt! How cute is this card! I made the flowers on the tag using felt buttons and leaves from this set which I then matted on Rose Red cardstock and some Pretty in Pink ribbon. The card is made with Pretty in Pink Designer Series paper matted on Old Olive cardstock. I used the new Sale-a-bration Scallop Trim punch on Old Olive cardstock, layered with Pretty in Pink cardstock and Rose Red ribbon. I just think this is the cutest card and so simple to make!

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Vintage Vogue SetI love the way this card turned out! Using the Vintage Vogue set from the new Occasions Mini I stamped the trio of large flowers and then cut them out. The greenery was punched using our new Extra Large Two-Step punch and the smaller flowers were punched using our Boho Blossoms punch. Everything was then layered on the scalloped ovals, the smaller from our punch and the larger from our Big Shot die set. The "Happy Birthday" was stamped from Well Scripted, also in the new Occasions Mini. I used Perfect Plum, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla cardstock. Hope you enjoy it and remember-all these products can be yours along with a free Sale-a-bration product today!
